Not strictly from New Year (I shot this in Sydney back in April, but I figured since Australia’s had their New Year already – Hai Aussie Pods! – it works well enough.

So, Happy New Year, Pods New and Old! Here’s to a year of continued growth, camaraderie, silliness, fun, and general unseriousness in the face of whatever the World of Warcraft brings in 2014!

Hi gang, just a reminder that I’m at Blizzcon this weekend! Wooo! Lots of news and updates coming out about WoW and Blizzard’s other games – new character models, player housing (!) in the form of Garrisons, expansion news (orcs, orcs and more orcs), 10 new levels, new talents, etc. Sites like Wowhead and WoW Insider have exhaustively complete details I imagine. I’ve been tweeting photos and knick knacks as I’ve been able to – I spent a lot of time in the Starcraft tournament today, so I didn’t want to bore you with lots of photos of the same thing… But it was really fun to watch ]:)

Anyway, follow along on the Pod Twitter feed for the updates and I’ll post more here when I get the chance.

More here.

Podtober Party

Hey guys!

I think we should do something for Halloween. And I’m thinking that something is going to work best toward the end of the month, on a Saturday (since that seems to be our standard event day these days).

And I’m further thinking that that event should involve costumes and trick-or-treating!

SO. How about we have a Pod Halloween Party on Saturday, the 26th of October, at, say 6:30 pm server time? Yes, the timing of this would preclude the Firelands run for that evening, but if those involved don’t mind a change of pace, they have these to look forward to:

Put together your wackiest, coolest, toughest, funniest set of gear, and we will have a fashion show. Pods vote in whisper to me, we will rate each set on a 1-5 scale, highest score wins. Prizes awarded for top placements (details to follow).

After the costume contest, we roll up shiny new Tauren and run them across Azeroth in a trick or treating race! Run your noobcows cross country to all of the candy buckets! I need to work out exactly how many and where (all of Kalimdor? All of Azeroth?) but we can figure that out before the race.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Post in the thread here.

Special thanks to Maddie for inspiring this event and prodding me to actually set it up! ]:)
